  • Alfred Kempker

    Alfred Bernard Kempker, 87, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. He was born on July 15, 1931, in Missouri, a son of Herman and Agnes Kempker Sr. (Hake). He was united in marriage to Janice Davis in 1955. Alfred served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. While in the Army he received the national defense medal and the good conduct medal. Alfred retired from the Roofers Union, where he put in 23 years. He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion, he also took pleasure in wood working. When he wasn't outdoors gardening, hunting or fishing he was dancing with Janice or playing cards with friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Janice; children: Dana Kempker of California, Cindy Wolken (Paul) of Centertown, Nanette Boessen (Michael) of St. Thomas, Alicia Taube (Michael) of California, Kevin Kempker (Julie) of Jefferson City, Sheila Himmerick (Brad) of Jefferson City and Rachel Knipp (Jason) of Lee's Summit; siblings: Laurentia Wenzel of Jefferson City, Herman Kempker Jr. (Marilyn) of Jefferson City, Leonard Kempker (Marilyn) of Wardsville, Lester Kempker (Rita) of Taos, Floyd Kempker (Helen) of Taos, Lloyd Kempker of Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Alfred is preceded in death by his parents and brother: Anthony Kempker. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., March 2, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
